Print-queue management

Multi-location printing

Users can print securely to any MFP in the corporate print environment with print jobs only starting after the user has authenticated. This functionality is scalable to corporate needs and requirements, and can cover locations from a single office to multiple locations on several continents.

Client-based print roaming

With optional client-based print roaming (CBPR) enabled, spooling takes place on the client workstations and no longer on the server, which reduces the necessity for and dependency on costly servers.

Central management

All shared print queues and their properties can be centrally managed.

Mobile printing

Print jobs can be released from a mobile device ensuring printing mobility and flexibility. This functionality supports AirPrint as well as sending jobs via e-mail or the Internet to the MFP. Most standard office formats including JPG, PDF, DOC, PPT, XLS, PNG are supported. Moreover, mobile printing can easily and securely be made available to anonymous users like guests, clients and business partners.

Secure print release

Users can authenticate via card, PIN, username/password or a combination of these features. Authentication ensures secure access to MFPs and documents, protecting critical company data and information against unauthorised use.

Storage management

YSoft SafeQ can be set up to delete jobs automatically in the print queue after a chosen time. This ensures that print volumes remain within the capacity limits of the available YSoft SafeQ server.

Print preview

With this functionality, YSoft SafeQ offers a preview of the first document page on the device panel before printing. In the display, one or more print jobs can be selected for combined processing.

Favorite jobs

Users can define favorite documents and thus access and print frequently used documents directly from the MFP panel without needing to send the print job repeatedly.

Load balancing and failover

If at least two YSoft SafeQ servers are operated in the customer environment, print jobs can be split among these servers depending on the number of jobs waiting. This allows faster completion of the print run, guaranteeing performance on the highest level. In addition, the second server can automatically take over the entire workload in case the first server is unavailable for any reason (failover).

Print policies and rules

Color-print color

Colour print policies are easily enforced, for example limiting the use of colour printing.

Automatic user notifications

Users with certain rules assigned to them are automatically notified in case their print job settings do not match the parameters of the rule. Documents are not printed as long as settings are selected that are in conflict with the rule conditions.

Green-print policies

Specific print modes such as automatic duplex printing can be set as default to stop an extensive use of paper by printing documents single-sided.

Application-based printing

The printing of certain document types, such as e-mails or websites, etc., can easily be restricted.

Easy-rule creation

Via a web-based wizard, the administrator can centrally manage the selection of job conditions and job triggers as well as related actions and notifications.
